All of this made me wonder why they did not have a home alarm systems. At the minute the break in occurred, an alarm system could have been sounded in both the home and with the authorities. Most assailants try to escape and never get the opportunity to assault or steal, keeping families safe and property in tact. If my friend had such a system, she and her family could have been spared what could easily have been their last.
